Pie's 1st Rosary

Hooray!
Today I got my very first roasry ever!!!
I've never even SEEN a real rosary in person before this one! It's all white, with little blue beads after each decade (so it kind of looks like the colours you always see Mary wearing...)
I am so happy!

I should re-phrase that: I got my first rosary YESTERDAY - It passed midnight before I wrote this, so I got to pray 2 sets of mysteries! I find the repitition of the rosary very relaxing - like the sound of waves crashing upon the shore. It's very calming, but also very enlightening (the enlightenment coming while meditating on the different mysteries.)

Today...er...yesterday was also my last class in the "Inquiry" section of my RCIA. On Sunday, I get to partake in the right of acceptance/welcoming (I don't remember which one you do if you haven't been baptized yet!) Also, I got to know my sponsor - she's a really nice lady named Anne Marie, who is the principal of Holy Name Catholic School. (In case I forgot to tell you, I go to Holy Name Catholic Church....It's across town from my house....but I don't care!) She's really funny, and she reminds me of my school principal Mrs. McCutchen - out at Medowvale Village P.S. Yep....I went to public schools all my life. My mother was never baptized, but my father grew up (in Scotland) as a catholic.

However, he was as catholic as a cow is purple.

N E Way, I'm really excited about next sunday - not only do I become a catac...cathum...catum...
Student of the Holy Gospel, I also am presented with my very own bible and sunday missal (which sounds like a weapon of mass distruction to me!) Also, it marks the beginning of the bible study portion of mass, so I don't have to stay in the Church hall with all those noisy children who won't shut up and the lousy parents who can't control them.....Lord bless them all.....

I'll tell you all how it goes next sunday (knowing my luck, I'll go arse-over-teakettle during the procession.....)

The Art of Blogging

I never thought of starting a blog before.

Maybe it's because I'm not egotistical enough to think that people really want to hear my opionions on the last Smallville or why I don't watch "Dancing with the Stars."

I'm sorry. We got off to a bad start.

My name is Jade.

I'm 19 years old and live in Toronto, ON. As you can tell by my "name" (radiopie, in case you didn't notice), I work in the radio broadcasting industry. A little more about myself before I begin: I live with my boyfriend (who I'll explain now is 42 years older than me...it works for us so PLEASE keep your mouth shut, I've heard all the jokes) and our two cats Minnow and Bagel - who are currently playing "bottle cap hockey" on the kitchen floor. I love old music, watching TV and such, I don't have many friends and am not your typical "teen." I don't know how to text message and hate the mall. I'm not emo or have odd piercings or anything.

Actually, I just started going to church.

For the first time.

Ever.

I am currently participating in the RCIA at Holy Name Catholic Church in Toronto....

Which is what this blog will be about.

There are many sides to my personality. For example - just look at my myspace account. After you get over the half naked women (I am a fan of the pin-up art of the 30's and 40's), you'll see a very strange side of me. However, not so compared to my facebook page, or my youtube channel. All are different.

All true, but diffrent.

I love the 1940's, Crude humor like "South Park", Kittens in Rainboots and being overly educated.

However, NEVER EVER at the same time!

So, this blog will somewhat chronicle my RCIA experience....totally unlike all my other "profiles."

I hope you enjoy...

Not that I think anyone is reading...
