Oh So Busy!

The Christmas season snuck up on me far too fast.

....Also, I forgot my password to my blog, so I couldn't post anything new until I deciphered it. I felt like some kind of spy, trying to crack my own codes. I did, however, learn how to add a photo to my opinions! Perfect for all you visual learners!

This will be my first christmas with the church. Not officially, but as an "associate." Actually, I'm a Catechumen. I went through the ceremony on rememberance day (Nov. 11th) while I was suffering from the worst flu of my life. (The signing of the senses didn't go too well, as I was leaking goo from every oriface, and I most likely got my sponsor sick as well!)

I'm very happy being a catechumen. (I often just shorten down the phrase to "Spicy Kitty." A Cat-in-Cumin...get it?....spicy kitty!! har har.... oh don't patronize me with your forced laughter... What can I say? My writers are on strike!) They gave me a little wooden cross (which gave me a rash....I think I was allergic to the little metal tab holding it on to the string). I also got a GIANT green bible....I like it, it smells like church.

Also, since the ceremony, I'm not allowed to sit in the church during the eucharist. Well, I assume I'm "allowed," I guess they just don't want to feel rude for eating in front of others who aren't. So, the other members of the RCIA and I are ushered out of the large hall and into the tiny chapel at the back of the building for a kind of bible lesson. (However, yesterday there was no one there to unlock the chapel door, so we all just stood in the cloak room until the end of mass....)

So, here I am, enjoying all the Advent Purple (why doesn't crayola turn that into a crayon?) But, I'm also at work, so I should probably get back to...well...work....
